In the beginning…

In 1992 Ram Music was started as a production pseudonym under which Ich Mowatt wrote music. At the time a
fresh-faced musician out of audio engineering college, he was known as the person to ask if anyone needed
music or had a technical question related to audio. Keeping abreast of technology he began educating
himself in commercial methods of music production. Always up for a challenge, in the early days he
wrote and produced dance music for local record labels and took on projects like producing and remixing
local bands. He also turned his hand to recording radio commercials and designing sound for productions
at the Edinburgh Festival.

In 1996 he was driven to discover more, and secured a place on the most prestigious music course in the
country. He studied commercial music at Westminster University where he found his calling and became
the first person in the courses’ history to specialise in production & receive 1st class honors.

His passion and an early exposure to the music industry have led to 15 successful years of freelance
work. Ich has since worked right across the music field and continues to satisfy clients as creative
director of Sounding Post Ltd.

1997 – 2000 – First class hons degree in commercial music @ Westminster University
1997 – Engineer & producer for Pharaoh Records, Oxford
1997 – Tutor for the BBC experience youth workshop
1998 – 2001 – Sound designer for “Big Wheel Theatre”, Oxford
1999 – Music composition and editing for London Fashion Week.
2001 – 2004 – In house engineer and vocal producer at Virgin records.
2001 – 2004 – Producer and remix artist for EMI Gold
2002 – Artist & producer signed to Universal Records
2003 – Song writer publishied by Peer Music Group
2000 – Present day – Creative director of RAM Music Studios & Sounding Post Ltd
