Editing

Editing is the selecting, cutting and editing of dialogue, sound effects and music to match and enhance the visual image, along with the skilled selection and tasteful use of digital effects and processes.

Restoration       

Sounding Post is superbly well-equipped to restore audio projects of all kinds. We believe restoration requires great sensitivity on the part of the engineer - just because we can remove the hiss in a recording doesn't mean we should - if by doing so the the recording loses "life" or "air" as a result, for example. An intimate knowledge of our equipment and its capabilities, along with an understanding of the needs of the material, help achieve the best possible result.

Mixing

Mix using up to 96 Tracks of Digital playback. Once all your edited audio material is balanced and subjected to the relevant sound processing and professional enhancement, you can master with us and give your project that extra punch.

Mastering

Mastering is simply the creation of a high-spec production master. It is an overlooked but essential part of the recording process and the final creative stage before manufacture or broadcast. Few people are aware that virtually every major-release, audio CD and visual soundtrack has been professionally mastered. You can deliver your multi-track recordings to us on a variety of formats for professional treatment.

Conversion & Transfer

We employ high quality conversion techniques. Multiple formats are available - including all lossless MP3 formats. Both our engineers and our studios are equipped to cater for producing both analogue and digital copies on almost all current formats, for a variety of uses.

When transferring vinyl and cassettes to digital format we use professional equipment for high-quality transfer whilst retaining their original analogue charm. We then use a combination of sophisticated computer software and detailed manual editing to remove as much noise from the recording as is practical, to restore the quality of your recordings without detracting from their original character. We can transfer scratched or warped records, although the results can vary depending on the condition of the source.

In the case of CDs and DVDs, the first step is to extract the music from your disc. This is the stage that can often lead to poor quality results due to tiny scratches on the CD, the poorly designed computer CD readers found on many PCs, or software not written to accurately extract the music. Our software and hardware minimises these problems by performing exhaustive error checking and correction to ensure the results are the best that can be attained.

Authoring & Duplication.

Sounding Post provides both a replication service for bulk-copying, and duplication in house with a bank of CD/DVD burners. We provide custom-designed labels and inserts, and can offer any packaging option from simple PVC wallets to jewel-cases, clamshells, and single or multidisk DVD cases. Of course, no DVD would be complete without an attractive label and library sleeve to complement and enhance the content of the disc.
